This paper is facinating.  Dr. Shah is trying to develop objective ways to diagnose active and latent trigger points with ultrasound diagnostic imaging techniques—grayscale (2-D ultrasound), vibration sonoelastography, and Doppler—to differentiate tissue characteristics of MTrPs.
