Abstract

MAJOR RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Screen 1 time for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) with ultrasonography in men aged 65 to 75 years who have ever smoked (grade B).
  • Selectively offer screening for AAA in men aged 65 to 75 years who have never smoked (grade C).
  • There is too little evidence to recommend for or against screening for AAA in women who have ever smoked (grade I).
  • Do not screen for AAA in women who have never smoked (grade D).
