This study demonstrated the safety of short–term treatment with vitamin C, and this treatment may reduce the incidence of postoperative atrial fibrillation (AF) after cardiac surgery. The authors recommend further studies, as well as more high quality RCTs, to confirm the effects of different durations of vitamin C on cardiac surgery.
